Homemade Garlic & Shrimp Tasty Pizza

Craving for pizza? Dialing 789-9999 or 911-1111 might rob you of the remaining 1k in your wallet. Fret not, dear baked cheese lover, I have exactly the right thing for you, and it doesn't cost 2 days of minimum wage earnings.

Hear ye, our Homemade Garlic & Shrimp Tasty Pizza (because it's made of left over tasty bread, geddit?). We made it twice already in our home, the first time we had proper rounded pizza crust but then we forgot to buy one the second time around so we decided to work with what we had, which turned out to be days old bread in the freezer. But don't worry, in the end, the senile bread was pretty darn delectable.

Ingredients:

  • Old Tasty slices
  • Cream Cheese Spread
  • Shrimp bits
  • Garlic, chopped
  • Cheese, grated
  • Tomato, sliced
  • Mushrooms, sliced
  • Basil leaves, diced

I did not put any measurement on the above ingredients because I think one of the best parts of homemade concoctions is the freedom of putting whatever you want, how much you want.

Anyway, the dish is simple.

  1. Take the tasty slices and apply evenly a generous amount of cream cheese spread.
  2. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
  3. Drizzle one cup of chopped garlic (Kidding! But you want to put a LOT of this in, trust me.)
  4. Add the shrimp, mushroom, tomato slice and a few specks of diced basil leaves.
  5. Put in the oven until shrimp is pink and cuddly.

Remember to adjust the oven heat preferences so that the heat is coming from the TOP and not the bottom so as to not burn the bread before the shrimp is cooked.

Bon appetit!

Greeked Out: Cyma Greek Taverna

I've never been to Greece but upon visiting the Eastwood Mall branch of the restaurant franchise, I might as well have.

Having been put to the waiting list after arriving at the restaurant, I could tell it was going to be a great lunch. Thankfully, the staff was pleasant and accommodating so we didn't mind waiting for a table then waiting again for our dishes to be served.

Roka Salata Salad
Aside from giving shade, leaves are a perfect addition to the diet, especially if mixed with honeyed walnuts, feta and Parmesan cheese and a special secret Greek vinaigrette. Added perk is how their solo order is good for 2-3 persons. Seriously, I wouldn't be able to finish that gigantic solo plate if I wanted to.

Chicken Souvlaki
Next is the heavenly skewered meat platter with the equally tangy dip and sort of shredded vegetables on the side. I especially love it when served with Greek roasted potatoes.

Most surprising fact of the night? I never knew Watermelon and Lamb Salad could taste so good. Seriously.

So, even with the more-than-one-day's-worth-of-minimum-wage price tag, I'll definitely be going back to dine in this place because, to quote a skin care brand, my taste-buds are worth it. ;)

It's not Wordless Wednesday nor Food Friday but I can't help it! It just looks (and tastes) so good.

Wordless Wednesdays: Mystery Munch

I'm jumping on the bandwagon and doing my own WW posts every week. Not only does it save time and trouble writing about something, I get to showcase pictures I don't know what to with. Enjoy. :)

Guess what this is.

How to Make a Peach Chocolate Chip Graham Cake

I finally got to make every person who can't bake's specialty cake. A Graham Ref Cake as we call it. Here I share my all too common misadventures.

Ingredients:

2 packs of Honey Graham Crackers, both crushed and not...
1/2 can of Canned Peach, unevenly sliced
Hershey's Chocolate Syrup
Brown Chocolate Chips
White Milk Chips
2 Tetrapacks (or whatever they call it) of All Purpose Cream
3/4 can of Condensed Milk
A chocolate-happy boy friend

Directions:

1. Have all your ingredients ready then realize you have no more condensed milk left.

2. Ask mom coming back home from work buy some for you.

3. Do nothing while waiting for the missing ingredient.

4. When all's A-okay, try to choose which procedure to do, from mixing the cream with the condensed milk, cutting the peach halves unevenly to obsessive-compulsively measuring the width and height of the graham crackers with the container so they fit imperfectly.

5. If choosing is impossible, do them all at the same time.

6. Finish mixing the cream and the condensed milk then put in freezer so it can achieve some sort of consistency. Or so you thought.

7. Finish unevenly slicing the peach halves with a plastic knife. Eat some.

8. Try all sorts of graham positions and determine which is best. Try out alternating patterns for each level making sure that every space is graham covered. Fully establish your OC disorder.

9. Decide that the freezer thing is both a stupid idea and a waste of time.

10. With cream mix in hand and the graham base intact, pour cream.

11. Spill cream.

12. Lay down randomly sized peach slices to your cream flooded container and create the next graham layer.

13. Repeat steps 10-12 until you run out of either a) cream mix b) graham crackers c) patience.

14. Top the last layer with crushed crackers your boy friend failed to crush and you ended up doing yourself.

15. Attempt some sort of peach abstract art. Fail.

16. Sprinkle milk/chocolate chips to cover up failure.

17. Wrestle boy friend with the chocolate syrup.

18. Lose.

19. Watch boy friend drown your peach art with said syrup.

20. Give up and stick the whole thing in the freezer in hopes that it will develop in an edible dessert.

It turned out to be a pretty good meryenda for all of us. GRAHAM = WIN. :)
