"Werewolf" Wolfie Blackheart Severed Lost Dog's Head, Boiled It, Put Photo on Web

Texas police are investigating possible animal cruelty charges against Wolfie Blackheart, a 23-year-old self-proclaimed "werewolf," who happily admits she severed the head of a missing dog, boiled it and then posted a photo of the ghoulish results on the Internet.

"I severed the head, boiled the head,” Wolfie told the San Antonio Express News. "People make the mistake of hacking the spine, which will fracture the skull." She also told the paper, "You also have to put (the head) outside for the brains to leak out."

Lisa Norwood, a spokesperson for Animal Care Services, says medical examiners should be able to determine if the dog was dead when its head was removed. It's provable "a number of different ways forensically," she said. San Antonio police got a warrant to search Blackheart's home that she shares with her mother, according to the San Antonio Express-News. They found the walls were plastered with posters and smeared with a red substance her mom says is ketchup. On a high shelf, the paper says police found Blackheart's collection of animal heads, including the cleaned skulls of a coyote, ram and wild boar. She also had a collection of large knives and swords.

Taxidermy is apparently a hobby and passion. Police swabbed the walls and confiscated the heads, including the dog head. For her part, Blackheart, whose born name is Sarah Rodriguez, says the dog was already dead when a friend brought it to her and claims she would never hurt a living dog. "I would never kill a canine," she told the paper. "I am a canine."

Game Addict Stabs Mother Over Internet Bill

A 15 year old Romanian boy Ionut Savin stabbed his adoptive mother 17 times after she refused to pay the internet bill. She felt that Ionut spent too much time on the computer playing games. Ultimately she felt this was the only way to help him break his “addiction.”

After stabbing his mother, the boy stole all the money in the house he could find and then went to a local internet café. Once at the café, he played Counter-Strike for several hours. The mothers body was found by her husband when he returned home from work that evening. The couple was supposed to be celebrating 16 years of marriage that evening.

Distraught, the husband called the police immediately after his wife’s lifeless body was discovered. Ionut quickly turned himself in and very calmly stated to police, “I think I’m the one you’re looking for.” He then showed the police where he had tossed the weapon he used to stab his mother.

Ionut Savin was known to be “dependent” on video games and spent most of his time on the computer playing games and browsing the web. His “addiction” caused him to miss over 200 days of school and to have almost no social life at all outside of the internet. Ionut Savin is now hospitalized under guard in a psychiatric clinic.

Drama Cat

The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks

Upon reading this book, I felt that Nicholas Sparks wanted to venture out into the ever-so-popular (a.k.a) cliche world of teen romance. My intuition was further proven as the truth when I found out that, in the legacy of The Notebook and A Walk to Remember, a movie version of this book is about to be released soon.

Starring Miley Cyrus.

Now, if that doesn't prove my point, I don't know what will.

His other novels have had mature characters and stories with depth. This has none of it. But don't get me wrong, reading it was not exactly a waste of time. The plot just felt a little too childish and outright predictable for my taste. If it wasn't for some great supporting characters (the Dad, younger brother Jamie), it would have been a dreadful read.

However, in true Nicholas Sparks's fashion, the ending was a tearjerker and as with everything connected with death and dying, it did manage to expel a few mists from my lacrimal glands. Of course it didn't matter if I had foreseen the plot conclusion miles away, the characters felt bad and so did I.

End Rant: With this novel, I realized that I hate Miley Cyrus am over the whole hormone-induced teen love plot lines. They tend to be cheesy and irritating and I kept seeing various Disney stars portraying the characters in my head. I just hope his other works don't disappoint me as I have downloaded quite a few of them. I doubt they will, though. Oh crap, hello Old Age.

Glass Microbiology

HIV

These transparent glass sculptures were created to contemplate the global impact of each disease and to consider how the artificial colouring of scientific imagery affects our understanding of phenomena. Jerram is exploring the tension between the artworks' beauty and what they represent, their impact on humanity.

SARS

The question of pseudo-colouring in biomedicine and its use for science communicative purposes, is a vast and complex subject. If some images are coloured for scientific purposes, and others altered simply for aesthetic reasons, how can a viewer tell the difference? How many people believe viruses are brightly coloured? Are there any colour conventions and what kind of ‘presence’ do pseudocoloured images have that ‘naturally’ coloured specimens don’t? See these examples of HIV imagery. How does the choice of different colours affect their reception?
In response to these questions, Jerram has created a series of transparent, three dimensional sculptures.

Escherichia coli

Photographs of these artworks will be distributed to act as alternative representations of each virus. Sayer won an award from the Institute of Medical Imaging 2007.

H1N1
The sculptures were designed in consultation with virologists from the University of Bristol using a combination of different scientific photographs and models. They were made in collaboration with glassblowers Kim George, Brian Jones and Norman Veitch.
